Hillman Engineering is actively searching for a Structural Inspector who can help solve critical concrete restoration and other building systems problems in numerous tall and medium-rise coastal apartment buildings located in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties.

The ideal candidate’s responsibilities will be:

• To be the point of contact with the contractor’s field staff and represents our firm to the construction project group.

• Conduct field observations on job sites as part of the investigative work required for verification of conformance with construction documents.
• Monitor and record all work performed by the contractor at the construction site and prepare a comprehensive weekly report with measurement of daily quantities completed and resources utilized.
• Identify and record any construction issues potentially resulting in a time or cost impact on the work which may result in a change to the contract.
• Plan and coordinate all owner-provided field testing and inspections, and witness and document contractor-provided field testing and inspections, in accordance with the contract documents.
• Prepare reports documenting quality control and quality assurance inspections, non-compliance notices, corrective actions, and safety concerns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2+ years experience as a Structural Inspector preferred.
• Must be willing to operate and utilize a swing stage and not be afraid of heights.
• Experienced in concrete restoration & inspection, water intrusion investigation, and building envelope investigation.
• General Contractors License may be substituted for the above.
• Competitive salary based on experience.
